Friends

Today I had lunch with a friend that I haven't seen or talked to for years. I had a great time catching up on each other's lives, and reconnecting with someone I was so close to. It was almost like we just saw each other a few days ago.

I was a little nervous to go at first, I didn't know if we would feel awkward, or run out of things to talk about to quickly, or she and I would feel like we have changed too much to be friends now. I'm so glad that wasn't the case (even though we have changed quite a bit).

I had a blast and I'm pretty sure Jen did too! I can't wait to see her again, next time with her family, I'd really like to visit with her mom.

It makes me really happy to know that of our lives have turned out to be so blessed and full of love. I think Jen and I both felt we were missing that in our lives as young adults, even though we were surrounded by love and blessed with more than we realized, I think maybe we just didn't appreciate it then. I'm glad to see that both she and I have found the peace we have been searching for.

I feel very blessed to be able to call her my friend.

How wonderful it is that life has turned out so well for both of you. You both must realize now how scary the ride was for those of us on the sidelines. God truly is merciful and he always knew your secret hearts. May the rest of your lives be blessed many times over.
